About Pho Yum

Featuring Pho Soup, Banh Mi Sandwiches, Summer Rolls, Spring Rolls, Bun Vermicelli Salad Bowls and Signature Bubble Teas.

Located at 1558 Central Ave, Colonie, NY 12205, Pho Yum operates as a vietnamese serving Colonie in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian restaurant, bubble tea store, cafe, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Colonie, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–8:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (518) 869-9866. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, pho-yum.com.

Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 780 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Colonie is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Colonie peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The worst pho I’ve ever had. For $13, it was basically just broth and noodles with almost no protein. When I asked about it, the server said the pho already came with protein, but if I wanted more, I had to pay an extra $3 or more. That was really disappointing because there was barely any meat to begin with. The side vegetables and bean sprouts were not fresh, and the pho was served in a paper bowl, which made the whole experience feel cheap. I’m from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where we have some of the best pho, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, Pho Yum was a huge disappointment, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

My food was packaged perfectly, delicious and filling, with perfect temperature broth. One of the employees (or the owner?) ran to hold the door for me as I exited with my hands full of deliciousness. Love it here and will return again and again!

I lucked out when I decided to make this my first food spot after getting into Albany. I'm from Phoenix, but I believe this to be the best Pho I've ever had in my life. The broth is delicious and rich. The noodles are perfect and the meat is tender. They make there own chilli paste in house with tamarind! It is absolutely delicious. You can taste the sweetness of the tamarind and right behind it comes the spicy kick. It's the best chilli paste I've ever had in my life. Lin, the owner, is so sweet and personable. She made sure every time I came in that I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal. I'm leaving Albany soon, and when I do I am going to miss this place. If you're in town and are a pho lover like me, please stop in and get a bowl!

I’ve been dining out in the Capital Region for over a decade, and I’ve never felt the urge to post a review to share my jaw dropping experience. I ordered the spicy lemongrass beef soup rice noodle with a $3 beef brisket add-on, for a total of about $17. What arrived was an impressive demonstration of portion minimalism. Photo one shows the untouched bowl: rice noodles accompanied by several carefully rationed fragments of what appears to be beef. Not slices—fragments. Each piece looked as if it had gone through an approval process before entering the bowl. Photo two offers a closer look at the star ingredient: “brisket.” The bowl presents something that resembles a distant acquaintance of brisket. To clarify, I respectfully asked the staff whether this was what their $3 beef brisket add-on normally looks like. The answer was yes. Before I could even follow up, the conversation concluded itself with: “I am not the restaurant owner or manager, I just work here.” A remarkably efficient exchange: question answered, responsibility redirected, expectations recalibrated. At this price point, the portioning strategy feels less like culinary design and more like a study in cost effici

Food was not fresh (brown lettuce, wilted greens), beef was inedible with the beef and rice dish - it was like trying to eat jerky. The pho was a much darker broth and im used to a lighter broth. The broth of the pho had fair enough flavor but honestly I worry about quality control when greens arent fresh and food isnt cooked properly We did call and ask for a refund of the beef and the person on the phone did say they'd speak with the manager and get it refunded but we'll see. We usually go with Vans but unfortunately can be difficult to get ahold of on certain days but in this case going forward we'll wait it out
